LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK 2 days, 1 night

Trip Highlights: Stop at the Equator Boat trip on Lake Mburo, Guided Bushwalk or walking safari,
Day 1
This morning your safari guide will collect you from the hotel and depart by road through Uganda’s rolling green hills to Lake Mburo National Park (the drive will take approximately 3-4 hours). You will have a short stop at the Equator for a morning cup of coffee or tea, as well as an informative talk and a photographic moment which is a must if you happen to bring your camera with you for this trip.

Lake Mburo is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates (cloven hoofed animals). More than 310 bird species have been recorded in the park. It is probably the best place in Uganda to see acacia-associated birds – mosque swallows black-bellied bustard, bare-faced go-away bird and Ruppell’s long-tailed sterling. Tonight, you will sleep in the Mihingo Lodge as the high end/up market option) or Rwonyo Rest camp for the budget option.

This is situated in Lake Mburo National Park on a small hill overlooking Lake Mburo and one of the game corridors leading to the lake. The park is at the heart of Uganda's Ankole district, which lies halfway between Kampala and the tourist attractions in the south west of the country. Accommodation is in ten fully furnished Batian tents comprising of veranda, twin bedrooms, dressing area and en-suite shower and toilet facilities. The meals served are all from a set menu.
You may relax for a little while before going in a dug out canoe on the lake.

Day 2
An early start will give you a chance to take guided walk which will lead you to the Salt Lick Area. A strategically located wooden platform offers a chance to see at least four different species of animals at any one point while they lick the salty soil. We will then drive back to Kampala arriving in the late afternoon. On arrival in Kampala, your guide will see you to your hotel.
