Chimpanzee Tracking & Habituation Uganda

Chimpanzee Habituation Uganda in Kibale National Park is a lifetime experience which is worth while as it allows the company Kibale’s researchers and habituators at chimpanzee during their daily activities, and the chimpanzees getting used to human presence without changing their natural being.

On your chimpanzee habituation tour, always expect coming across the chimps (Chimpanzees) de-nesting (in their nocturnal nests) between 05.30 to 06.30am before them throughout the day till they make new nests and the night around 19.00.

The Habituation Experience by tourists is normally for low season months of March, April, May and November as the Chimanzees (Chimps) tend not to have so much interference from people trekking so it makes the habituation trip easy to the habituators

Primates walk (Chimpanzee trekking)

The most favorite of Kibale’s walks embarks on from the Kanyanchu Visitor center at 08.00 & 15.00 and lasts 2 to 3 hours. Chimpanzees are the most sought after primate by visitors.

While on your Chimpanzee trekking safari, you should look out for the black & white colobus, red tailed monkey or the grey cheeked mangabey. Your guides will be able to show you pittas & different bird species and will give details of the tradition of the plant species within the forest.

They share about 98% of human genes: their brain is startlingly similar to our own; they also adapt to their environment and develop tools like humans. Seeing these lively and intelligent creatures in different forest in Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania is memorable.
