5 day safari tour to Bwindi & Queen Elizabeth National Parks.

Day 1
Your safari tour guide will pick you from your hotel and depart by road to Bwindi Impenetrable National park or Kisoro. This scenic drive takes approx 9-10hours. You will stop over at the Equator for a photographic opportunity as well as an informative talk.
You will continue on your journey, which offers excellent views including the triangular peaks of the Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda and the Congo.
The road then drops down into a valley, to Bwindi Impenetrable forest or Kisoro which are other homes to the few remaining mountain gorillas!

Day 2
Up relatively early for a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla tracking. Before 8:00 am report to the ranger station in Mubare, Habinyanja, Rushegura or Nkuringo for registration depending on which group you will be gorilla tracking and talk to one of the rangers; the guides will then take you through the forest pushing your way through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas.
This gorilla trek can take from half an hour to 5 hours – a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes) Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male; the silverback.
It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas. It’s amazing to think there are only about 650 of these beautiful creatures left!
If you have the afternoon free, how about a guided village walk – see how the Ugandans live, visit a local bar and meet the local medicine man! (Optional activity)

Day 3
After breakfast, your safari tour guide will drive you to the queen Elizabeth national park. We will then head through the volcanic formation of the western rift valley towards Queen Elizabeth. This is a host to large variety and volume of wildlife. In the afternoon we shall arrive in the park as we have a slow drive into the park you will be able to see numerous animals hopefully , then your guide will transfer you to your hotel in the park.
Tonight you will stay in Mweya Safari Lodge; this is a large, first class lodge overlooking the famous Kazinga Channel with its large hippo population.
The Lodge comprises of 49 rooms, all of which have en-suite bathrooms and mosquito nets. They have a swimming pool sunk into the large deck, looking out over the Kazinga Channel. They have a boutique from which you can purchase clothing, local crafts, basic necessities and souvenirs. The lodge also offers a conference facility that can accommodate approximately 100 people. The meals are generally served as a buffet.

Day 4
In the morning we will drive along to the kasenyi area of the park where lions are frequently spotted. You will be able to see numerous animals like the leopards, elephants as well as water hogs, lions, hyena, Uganda kob, waterbuck as well as the salt lakes.
This afternoon you will have a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, returning to the camp early evening. The boat trip will allow you to experience wildlife up close where hippos huff and spray mere feet away, buffalo linger in the shallows and a tremendous variety of birds grace the grasses on the river’s edge. Amongst those you will see are the malachite and pied kingfishers, great white and pink-backed pelicans and the open-billed stork.

DAY 5
An early rise – a pre-breakfast, you will set off for Kampala. You will have lunch on the way some where in Mbarara or Masaka at the hotel Brovad. Arriving Kampala in the afternoon and on arrival, your guide will take you to your hotel in Kampala / where you will be dropped off ready to take your flight back home anytime.
